Horseback Ridin

Lately, I have been experimenting with writing more on my blog posts because I feel like it gives you, the reader, a better sense of who I am and allows me to tell a little bit more of a story with my images. I think the art of writing (** not that I am perfect at it ) is getting lost behind all the text messages and quick little responses that we send to each other on a daily basis. I hardly know anyone anymore that sends letters to each other. Obviously, we do not need to send letters to each other everyday to be good at writing, but what happened to taking the time to think about what you wanted to say and making sure that your handwriting was presentable? I do not want this to turn into a rant, because that is not my objective, but 1. I challenge you, especially the younger generation, to start sending one letter a month to a friend or family member and 2. start practicing your grammar in your short little responses to people, use correct spelling and punctuation,,,,…….!!!!!!,,,,,,……….. Some of you will probably find punctuation errors in this blog, therefore, I welcome any advice and wisdom with writing from anyone that wants to give it. Again, I am not the best, but I want to get better and push others, as well.

On to my post.

A couple of weeks ago, I took the ladies down to LA for a little adventure to a cafe on Sunset Boulevard, called the Griddle Cafe, that my good buddy Michael Thompson turned me onto. We then decided to extend it with a little more adventuring, horse back riding! I grew up with horses and riding all around my family’s ranch. I truly miss being around them, horses are such beautiful animals and so powerful. They are extremely intelligent creatures and command the respect of the rider. It was amazing seeing how these animals almost knew the rider better than the rider knew themselves. These horses see tons of people everyday so I am sure they are use to being around big groups of people with a wide variety of ages. I took all these shots on my Mamiya 645 and loved how they turned out. Again, I have so much respect for these animals and how much personality you can see in their eyes. I hope you enjoy these images.
Cheers,

~Montana
